INTERPRETING THE TRANSFER REPORT
The Transfer report breaks down the cohort by the institution
that a student transferred to, and whether that institution was
in California or outside California. It also identifies the
whether the transfer institution was a four year college or a two
year college. The report also gives you information on the date
the student transferred to another institution..
The By College of Destination table identifies the college of transfer and the number of students that enrolled at that institution. The table is set up in Ascending order with the institution with the most transfers at the top.

The By State table shows how many
students enrolled in a college in state and how many students
enrolled in a college that is out-of-state.
The By Sector table displays the same information by the type of
institution, public or private.
The By State, Sector, and Level table displays the same information and adds a third dimension, whether the transfer institution was a four year college or a two year college. This is added to the By State and By Sector information and identifies the type of institution the students are transferring to:

The final table on this report is the Distribution/Cumulative By Term table. This table identifies the cohort students and the Term in which they enrolled in another institution.

All tables are from the 1996 FTF Statewide Cohort Report.
The transfer data comes from data matches performed from the SRTK cohort to Universities of Califonia, California State Universities, California Community Colleges, and the National Student Loan Clearinghouse (NSLC). The NSLC data is based on a voluntary participation of instituions. If an institution is not a member of the NSLC then the Chancellor's Office has no way to capture the transfer data from private or out-of state institutions. If a California Community College is not a member of the NSLC then no data will be available for private or out-of-state transfers. If a college that your students transfer to, is not a member of the NSLC, then no transfer data will be available for that college.
Transfer data only indicates that a student has transferred from your college and enrolled in another institution.
